At Heroes of Honor, we believe that healing and gratitude come in many forms - sometimes, it’s a quiet sunrise over the water, the thrill of a bent fishing rod, and the laughter shared among friends who understand your journey.
Honor Sportfishing was created to give our nation’s veterans and first responders an opportunity to step away from the stresses of daily life and experience the restorative power of a day at sea. Many of these men and women have spent years in high-stress, high-risk environments, and they often put their own well-being last. We want to change that.
Through this program, we provide no-cost, fully guided fishing trips designed for rest, relaxation, and camaraderie. It’s more than just fishing - it’s about creating a safe space to connect, recharge, and build memories that last a lifetime.
Every outing is funded by donations and partnerships, ensuring that our heroes can enjoy this experience without worry or expense. Whether it’s their first time on the water or they’re seasoned anglers, every trip reminds them of one simple truth: they are valued, appreciated, and never forgotten.

About the boat:
Honor Sportfishing is a 53ft 1978 Monterey Sportfish, recently refitted by Spencer Yachts within the last 5 years. A true classic, the boat boasts many updated features, including mezzanine seating, an ice maker, a water maker, head, refrigerator, 4 AC units, updated electronics, and more. Powered by twin Caterpillar C12 motors, the Honor boat cruises at a comfortable 26 knots, ensuring quick access to the best fishing grounds.
We’re fully equipped with the latest tackle, rods, and reels, and whether you're targeting tunas, marlins, or anything in between, we’ve got you covered. In addition to top-notch equipment, we have a top-notch captain. With 28 years of offshore fishing experience, Captain Mike spent 17 years fishing in Hatteras before bringing his skills to Oregon Inlet in 2016. Since then, he’s worked with some of the best fishermen in the world, and has been running the Honor boat for the last 6 years, earning respect everywhere as a proven expert.
Honor Sportfishing is owned by Heroes of Honor, with proceeds from all charters helping fund both boat operations and our nonprofit programs supporting veterans and first responders.
